Heart's Desire , by Jose Cruz Gonzalez, tells the story of a Mexican-American veteran of World War II who comes home transformed, feeling that anything is possible. He surprises his family with a new bride, a lovely French girl with her own tragic secret. With the help of the G.I. Bill he intends to farm a small piece of land. But his family and the townsfolk have not changed and he returns to the same prejudices that were faced by his father’s generation. A moving and unforgettable theatrical experience.
