How to Have a Thriving Volunteer Program: Recruiting, Retaining and Appreciating Volunteers was presented to a sold-out crowd on February 29. Our gratitude to panelists Angélica Chavez of Monterey County EnLACE program, Veronica Miramonte of Restorative Justice Partnership, and Natalia Molina of Monterey Bay Aquarium for sharing their experience and insights. It was evident that there is interest and need for ongoing discussion and networking for Volunteer Management professionals.

Feeling Groovy

Thanks to the Monterey Museum of Art for hosting NAMC’s Summer of Love Mixer at their beautiful Pacific Street building. All who attended enjoyed the “Who Shot Monterey Pop” photography exhibition, as well as the delicious food from Nicole’s Catering and music from the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. A highlight was the welcome by Stuart Chase, new MMoA ED, who talked about the importance of community connection, and the Museum’s plans for Year of the Woman in 2018. It was a fun event! If you missed it this year, we hope to see you next time.
